1. WE RESPECT YOUR PRIVACY 

(a) Catoptica Pty Ltd respects your right to privacy. This policy sets out how we collect and treat your personal information.

(b) Personal information means information we hold that can be used to identify you.

2. CATOPTICA COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

2.1. Data Collection and Privacy

(a) We use Firebase Authentication and Crashlytics as service providers to securely manage user sign-ins and monitor app performance. These services process data on our behalf and do not use it for any purpose other than to provide the specific functionality required by our app.

(b) We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions purchases. RevenueCat acts as our service provider and does not use your data beyond fulfilling subscription tracking and validation tasks.

(c) The app does not integrate advertising, cookies, or any form of tracking, other than as required to manage your subscription status. This data is processed in compliance with the security standards of the app distribution platform from which you have downloaded the app. 

(d) The app does not access your camera, microphone, or stored media. It only accesses your speaker so it can play sound. 

2.2. Opt out right

To cease using our app, you can uninstall it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. If you wish to delete your stored personal data (username and email), you can request this by contacting us.

2.3. When you use our Application

When you download our app, certain non-personal information, such as your mobile unique device ID, IP address, operating system, and browser type, may be collected. This data is processed within the app distributor platform's infrastructure and in compliance with its security standards. Any collected information is used solely in a non-identifiable aggregated form to analyze user behavior and improve our services.

3. WEBSITE COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

(a) Information you provide

Catoptica Pty Ltd may receive and store personal information you provide to us directly by email or other forms of direct communication. For example, you may provide your name and email address to enable us to respond to your inquiries, provide support, or offer feedback related to the app.

(b) Cookies

Catoptica Pty Ltd may from time to time use cookies on our website. Cookies are small files used to identify you when you return to the website and to store details about your use of the website. Most devices automatically accept cookies, but you can choose to reject cookies by changing your settings.

(c) We may also use your personal information to protect the copyright, trademarks, legal rights, property or safety of Catoptica Pty Ltd, its application, website and customers, or third parties.

(d) Information that we collect may from time to time be stored, processed, or transferred to third-party services, including Firebase (Google Cloud) and payment providers, which are located in countries outside of Australia, including the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any third parties handling your data comply with Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) requirements, or are subject to equivalent privacy protections under GDPR or other applicable laws.

(e) By providing us with personal information, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the types of disclosure covered by this Policy. Where we disclose your personal information to third parties, we will request that the third party follow this Policy regarding handling your personal information.

(f) We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or for a maximum of 30 days after account termination, except where required by law. 

6. SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

(a) Catoptica Pty Ltd is committed to protecting your personal information. We have electronic and managerial safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or disclosure.

(b) While we take strong security measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Transmission of information is at your own risk.

(c) In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities within 72 hours, where required under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland. Or, as soon as reasonably practicable, in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and any other applicable laws in jurisdictions where our app is distributed.

7. ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

(a) You may request details of personal information that we hold about you in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988(Cth) by contacting us. A small administrative fee may apply.

(b) We reserve the right to refuse to provide you with information that we hold about you, in certain circumstances set out in the Privacy Act.
