What is Catoptica responding to?

Catoptica responds to shifts in magnetic field. Catoptica does not identify the source of those shifts.

Can Catoptica pick up on people?

Users may experience some outputs as highly accurate or meaningful in relation to themselves or others. However, outputs are anonymous and should not be treated as proof of anyone’s thoughts, feelings, intentions, or behaviour. 

Why don’t all outputs make sense?

Not all outputs will feel relevant or be immediately recognised as meaningful. Some may be symbolic, abstract, or only make sense in hindsight or context. Others may result from nearby electromagnetic interference. 

Can I use Catoptica to make important decisions about people or animals?

No. Catoptica should not be used as the sole or primary basis for important decisions. Outputs are interpretive and should be considered alongside your own observation, context, and, where appropriate, professional advice. 

Is using Catoptica to monitor the vibes of my environment an invasion of privacy?

Catoptica produces anonymous, symbolic outputs and does not identify or provide factual information about any particular individual. It is designed for exploring the vibes of an ambient environment, not for targeted monitoring or making claims about specific people. Users are responsible for complying with local privacy and recording laws. 

How is Catoptica legal if it can feel so accurate?

Catoptica provides symbolic outputs for reflection, curiosity, and exploration. It does not claim to prove facts, diagnose conditions, predict events, or determine what any person or animal thinks or feels. 

Is Catoptica surveillance?

Catoptica itself does not identify people or provide factual information about them. It is designed for general environmental exploration, not targeted monitoring or assessment of specific individuals. However, users must not use the Product, Outputs, screenshots, recordings, captions, or commentary as part of unlawful surveillance, stalking, coercive control, intimidation, harassment, discrimination, defamation, or privacy-invasive conduct. 

Can I use Catoptica as evidence about someone?

No. Outputs are not proof or conclusive evidence and should not be used to accuse, judge, label, or make claims about any person or animal. 

Can I record others using Catoptica?

If you use the recording feature, you are responsible for following local laws and obtaining any required consent. Catoptica does not verify or manage consent. 

What if the outputs feel intense or uncomfortable?

If an output causes distress or discomfort, stop using the app. Catoptica is intended for exploration and reflection, not to cause harm or overwhelm.
